Sea Sun Kayak established itself in 1996 as the first sea kayaking company in the Halifax area.

Today, Sea Sun Kayak is known as one of the most experienced sea kayaking companies in the region with the friendliest staff. We are located in scenic & historical St. Margaret's Bay which is a quick twenty-five minute drive from downtown Halifax. In addition to our extensive kayak tours and kayak rentals we also offer guided hiking tours in Peggy's Cove and the Wilderness Bluff Trail System.

Our guides are largely "lifers", or long term natives of Halifax and we carefully select each for their paddling skills and experience and of course their cheerful attitude. You will soon discover that our guides bring great insight and confidence to every kayaking and hiking tour.

Sea Sun is operated year-round to answer all your questions. We want to ensure that your trip is prepared right down to the finest details.

Our kayaking area will take you to undeveloped islands of St. Margaret’s Bay. The protection of the environment and its wildlife inhabitants is fundamental to our business.

We have always done and continue to:

• make decisions where the environment comes first;
• work with the St. Margaret’s Bay Stewardship Association to educate and protect this natural area;
• be an active partner of Leave No Trace Canada
• strive to be the leader in no impact exploration of areas we explore;
• donate 100% of the profits from our recycling program to non-profit youth groups in our community.
